FERTILE GROUND

A new single by Jordan Rowe
Available Everywhere on FRIDAY, MARCH 26

ABOUT

“Fertile Ground,” is a break-up song that sonically puts a modern spin on the Laurel Canyon rock sound of the 1970s. It captures the feelings one goes through in the wake of splitting from a significant other. Passing by parks and shops you frequented together, and others you were supposed to try together soon. Conversations and seemingly insignificant moments that are forever etched in your mind. And the feeling of being forced to start a new chapter, even if you’re not ready to leave the previous one behind.

“Fertile Ground” is available on Spotify, Apple, Amazon, and everywhere you listen on Friday, March 26.

LYRICS

These streets don’t have much to show
They’re just where I got my heart broke
Your face around the corner
Every time I take one step or four

On fertile ground
I walk on fertile ground

That park on the west side
Is where we sat, kissed, and cried
My arms are bound, my back is tight
Even in the bed we lie

On fertile ground
I wake on fertile ground

I can’t stop shaking all the time
I pass that joint we said we’d try
To understand where you and I
Wanna go when we run and hide

On fertile ground

Dancing ‘til the break of dawn
In the halls of the forgotten song
I heard you sing when I was all alone
I wondered where you’d gone

On fertile ground
I stand on fertile ground
I wait on fertile ground
I vanish on fertile ground

This echo travels very far but doesn’t reach the whole way
See if you can catch it as it falls
Stuck inside this pane of glass that you just walk by all day
You’ll never make me leave these sacred walls
